Why I became a Governor

My partner & I moved to the village in 1998. In 2018 our son was born and he started reception at Farcet Primary School in September 2022.

My partner & I moved to the village in 1998. In 2018 our son was born and he started reception at Farcet Primary School in September 2022. I am very excited to be involved with the school wherever possible and am the Chair of the Parent Council. I qualified as an accountant (ACCA) in 2006 and worked as a Head of Finance from 2012 to 2018 on the Senior Leadership Team at the company I have been working at since 1998. As Head of Finance I was responsible for managing large teams, budgeting, forecasting and management accounting of weekly and monthly results, cost control and modelling revenue scenarios. I regularly met with senior exec members of the business. Upon returning to work from maternity leave in 2018, I moved into the newly created role of Head of Client Services. In this role I managed several stakeholder relationships, set service level agreements, reported key performance indicators to our internal and external stakeholders and was involved in a number of small to medium sized projects. Within this role I continued to be part of the Senior Leadership Team, and led the Recruitment & Brand Awareness Workstream. In January 2023 I moved into a Finance Transformation Lead role, also the same company, where I am responsible for certain areas of a large Finance System Project, continuing to be responsible for the Recruitment & Brand Awareness Workstream.
