Vision and Values

Our Church School inspires everyone to reach their unique and full potential in a joyful and encouraging Christian atmosphere.

Our Values

Our values are the principles and beliefs that guide our actions, decisions, and relationships within the school. They shape daily interactions, policies, and the overall ethos of the school. Our values were created by our school community to unify all stakeholders and enable us to have high standards in a safe and welcoming school.

Our values are

We are Farcet

We are Forgiving

We are Ambitious

We are Resilient

We are Compassionate

We are Equal

We are Together

School Vision

‘Let your light shine’ (Matthew 5:16)

Our inspiration for our school vision came from the Bible. The school community voted for a passage from the Bible that reflects the school’s achievements and aspirations for the children who attend Farcet and their families too.

Our school vision, ‘Let your Light Shine’ (Matthew 5:16) is a short, inspiring description of what our school community aspires to be in the future and it depicts our school currently.

Collective Worship

We hold a daily act of collective worship in our school and understand worship to be a special act or occasion, the purpose of which is to show reverence to God. Collective worship involves all members of the school coming together.

Parents have the right to withdraw their child from Collective Worship; this is stated in our policy.

Aims and purpose:

The aim of Collective Worship in our school is to provide the opportunity for pupils to:

  • worship God
  • reflect on values that are of a Christian nature and on their own beliefs
  • develop a community spirit, a common ethos and shared values
  • consider spiritual and moral issues
  • respond to the worship offered
  • to provide an opportunity to celebrate religious festivals
  • to celebrate gifts, our talents and our achievements
  • to encourage respect and care for all God's creations
  • to foster a positive attitude to both local and global environmental issues
  • to foster feelings such as awe, wonder, thankfulness, mystery and joy

To be meaningful for pupils, Collective Worship enables them to reflect on:

  • what it means to be a human being
  • questions of meaning, purpose and value
  • how to be the best that human beings can be - inspirational, exemplars (people of faith or not) who have demonstrated through their actions, lives and qualities. Examples will come from religious and non-religious sources across curriculum subjects
  • personal beliefs and values

The Collective Worship that we deliver will recognise and value the cultural, linguistic and religious diversity of our school population and will be conducted within our Equal Opportunities policy.

We will strive to ensure that collective worship is:

  • inclusive
  • invitational
  • inspiring

Nurture Break

We recognise that pupils have opportunities to reflect throughout the school day and that they need time to nurture themselves body and soul. Each day at 10:20am, pupils have time to take a comfort break, refresh their drinks, eat fruit and healthy snacks. A staff member will lead a reflection session during which 'big questions' are considered and feedback about collective worship is gathered and shared in a Reflection Book. All pupils have the opportunity to have share their views on faith, humanity, morality and spirituality in a safe, warm and respectful atmosphere.
