Why I became a Governor:

I am the local Salvation Army minister and wanted to become a governor to

be involved in the school community and look out for the best interests of local children and their families and to offer support and advice and make a difference where I can.

Role & Responsibilities:

I am the local Salvation Army minister and work within the community of Farcet & Stanground. We aim to support families in need and build up the community of Farcet. I volunteer at both Farcet Primary and Stanground Academy as a mentor offering help and support to children with mental health issues and behavioural issues. At the church we run groups for the local community including Music Tots, Lego Church and Families messy church and summer play time that provides meals for those in need. We also provide food parcels and hampers at Christmas and gifts for children for those in need at Christmas. I also enjoy coming into school to lead Assemblies on a regular basis. Interests: I enjoy walking my dog in the community and playing an active part in working with the parish council, school, church and community groups to build and grow and develop the community. I enjoy languages.

My free time is spent usually with grandchildren. Background: I am a mum of two grown up daughters and three grandchildren and was brought up locally in Whittlesey. I am a keen walker and enjoy outdoor activities. I have worked as a peripatetic learning support teacher and worked abroad with evangelical aid mission trips to Romania and Latvia and Hungary before becoming a minister. I speak Russian and Latvian.
